After cuts to its funding in 2017, the Alberta Innovates program wasn't able to provide nearly as many scholarships to Health Sciences grads hoping to pursue research and careers in technology. The program did suffer a $20 million reduction, but Alberta remains the province to provide the most per-capita funding for research in Canada.
