Hey everyone,My name is Richard Bagan, the new photo editor here at The Gateway. It`s the best time of the year to take photos!We are having our second volunteer meeting of the year this Monday June 4, 2018 from 3:00 PM - 4:00 PMThere are so many cool things going on in the world of news, opinion and arts! I'll post the list of current opportunities in the space below! SUMMER 2018: For the rest of the summer there will be ONE volunteer meeting per month! Going forward, you can expect mail from me a week before the meetings happen. If you can`t make it to the meeting next week, you can still grab assignments by emailing me [email protected]

New archive facility opened at South Campus

The Research and Collections Resource Facility opened on May 31, and is home to 30,000 boxes of documents which go back to 1908! It would be really cool if someone could go in and get some photos of the facility.

News - U of A scientists discover world's oldest lizard fossil

  New research by a PhD student here shows that a lizard fossil discovered about 20 years ago is around 240-million-year-old, which is 75-million years older than what scientists previously thought and making it the oldest relative of modern snakes and lizards ever found.

Theatre Network is rebuilding the Roxy Theatre!

In 2015, Theatre Network's venue, The Roxy, burnt down in an accidental fire. Since then, the mid-sized theatre company has made its home at The Roxy on Gateway (formerly C-103), but with government funding and private donors, the old Roxy will soon be rebuilt as a state-of-the-art multi-venue theatre complex!
