Hey everyone!It's Taylor here, you're new Opinion Editor! Emily has moved up in the world and is the new Editor-in-Chief (way to go Emily!!), so I am here to hopefully fix the gaping hole in our hearts that was left behind.I am super excited to get to know all of you more over this next year! I'm currently planning to set up a Discord for Opinions so that we can have a place where you can ask me questions live and we can have virtual game nights! Stay tuned for a link, as well as a date for a virtual game night where I can get to know you all, and you all can get to know me!For now, here are the pitches! Bill Flanagan's first official address After two years as the U of A's president, Bill Flanagan had his first opportunity to speak with the U of A community in person at the virtual U of A's State of University Address on May 3. Is this an appropriate amount of time to wait to address his community? Does it compare to other university presidents? Should it (or could it) have been done sooner?

Most years we hear about one or two professors who have provided weak instruction to courses, limiting the outcome of a course. This semester, however, many students have been voicing their disapproval of professors' teachings. This could be due to the rapid changes between online and in-person, the lack of instructor support, the cuts in funding

or maybe it's something else? Is this something that the university should be worried about?

With the Roe v. Wade possibly being overturned in our neighbouring country, many Canadians have been wondering what this means for us. Would our parliament ever try to set a law against abortions in Canada? Will Canada allow women to come here to have safe, legal abortions? What will this mean for international students from the United States?

New Alberta K-6 curriculum finalized The new curriculum has been a hot topic for the last few years as it has been drafted and redrafted. It has officially been finalized for the 2022-2023 school year. What does this mean for the young Albertan students to come?
