The media has been calling it a racist tirade
A video posted on May 8 that captured a racially charged argument between a woman and four men went viral over the week. She accused the men of "not being Canadian" and told them "go back to your f--king country." The woman has since been fired from her job. This video has sparked debate about Canadian values of multiculturalism and tolerance.
What does this video tell us about tolerance in Canadian society? Has public backlash been overblown? Not strong enough? Write your thoughts about what this video should be telling us.

UCP passes controversial party policies over the weekend
United Conservative Party members voted in their annual general meeting over the weekend to set party policy. One of the motions that passed was "to reinstate opt-in parental consent for any subjects of a religious or sexual nature in Alberta schools."
This motion, if turned into policy, would compromise the function of gay-straight alliances in Albertan schools. Several UCP MLAs even asked delegates to not vote for this motion, but it still passed with 57 percent approval. Jason Kenney said after the motion was passed that the resolution was poorly written and that it shouldn't apply to GSAs.

Yale student calls police on black student sleeping
A black Yale student, sleeping in her dorm's common room, had the police called on her by another student, claiming she wasn't allowed to sleep in the common room. This event has followed other moments of black individuals having the police called on them even though they haven't committed crimes.

Several former politicians, including former Prime Minister Stephen Harper, paid for a full-page ad in the New York Times, signifying their support for Trump pulling out of the Iran nuclear deal.
