It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas lmao
WOOP WOOP! Heyo all. We just had our very last opinion meeting of the semester yesterday! This means that we won't be meeting again until classes begin in January! I look forward to seeing you all in the new year.I'll still be sending out pitches every week in case any of you want to write, so keep a look out for those! Another quick thing: it's time again for recording a CJSR segment, so please email me if you'd like to be on the local radio station! We'd ideally be recording Friday evening or on the weekend, so please let me know if you're interested! We also have pitches as always, so please email me if ya wanna snag one!

"Baby, It’s Cold Outside" pulled from some radio stations
Several Canadian radio companies have
the song from their playlist, citing lines that can be read as problematic.
From what I've seen on Facebook, many people are super upset about this, saying that it's a rampant overreaction, especially when very sexual and violent rap music plays on the mainstream (just to cite one common argument). Don't the radio stations have a point, though?

Edmonton dad creates app to help kids find odd jobs in neighourhood
The app basically has parents list out certain jobs, like shovelling driveways or babysitting, and kids can sign up to take these jobs and earn a little cash. Kind of a cool idea as far as helping kids learn social norms about work and wages, and help kids have the opportunity to explore those norms.

The Landing to be integrated into the SU to resolve board-level leadership issues
The SU has integrated The Landing into itself, hoping to deal with board issues that have seemingly plagued the organization of a few years. Is this something that was desperately needed? Could another solution have been found?
