Hey y'all!I hope everyone is surviving the beginning of midterm season ( I am not - I have one in three hours so everyone, please send me good vibes)! Quick reminder that this Friday at 6:45 p.m., Metro Cinema is showing Everything Everywhere All At Once in a partnership with the Gateway! Students (not just U of A) get to watch for free, so bring your student I.D. with you! With that, here are this week's pitches! Just let me know which one you'd like and what your take on it will be. Alberta is calling Recently, Jason Kenney’s ad campaign ‘Alberta is Calling’ has gained major traction on Twitter. The campaign hopes to encourage those living in other major cities, notably Toronto, to move to Alberta because of our cheaper cost of living. Will advertising our cheap cost of living cause many people to move here, ultimately driving our prices up? Or, is it unfair to those living in other cities to not mention the negative aspects of Alberta, like an increasingly overburdened healthcare system?

All COVID-19 entry requirements, including mandatory vaccines, masking on airplanes, and use of the ArriveCAN app, will be dropped as of October 1, 2022. Many are divided over this issue, with some thinking it's time we drop COVID-19 border requirements, since most mandates have been relaxed anyway. On the other hand, some are concerned that this will lead to an another outbreak, and that we should continue to enforce COVID-19 entry requirements. Explore what repealing these mandates will mean, and pick a side!

Acute care COVID-19 outbreaks A recent update from AHS has revealed that most acute care facilities are currently experiencing COVID-19 outbreaks. What could have been done to prevent this? How could this rapid spread impact students in the near future?

UASU coverage issues Recently, students have been having issues with their Health and Dental coverage, including conflicting and limited information circulating, and a blackout period where they were uncovered. Explore what went wrong, and what needs to improve!

Sometimes, students have to stay late on campus, whether its for cramming for a midterm, or hastily completing a project due the next day. Write a Marble Pedestal praising SUB for its life-saving all nighter hours!
