Rogers outage affects all of Edmonton, including transitCanada had a nation-wide network outage when Rogers’ services collapsed. Many establishments couldn’t accept debit payments, and some telecommunications were down. One of the results was Edmonton Transit not being able to provide live updates, leaving many transit users stranded or confused. If you were affected by the outage, write about your experience, and what could have been done differently!

Experts are warning Albertans that a seventh wave of COVID-19 is set to hit our province by the fall. Many Albertans are sick of the pandemic, and don’t believe a seventh wave is coming at all, while others are preparing to the best of their ability. What could this wave mean for our health care which still hasn’t fully recovered? Now that we don’t have any mandatory precautions at the University, what does this mean for students?

U of A to build new tennis facilityStudents can expect new tennis courts at South Campus by 2023, replacing the old ones at Michener Park. Not just for students, the new facility is also for the greater Edmonton tennis community. Is this a good use of limited financial resources at the U of A? Or, will this help build relations between the U of A and its surrounding communities?

Kenney establishes annual Alberta DayJason Kenney announced at Stampede that each September 1, Alberta would celebrate its establishment as a province. Although not a statutory holiday, Alberta Day would allow Albertans to celebrate our unique culture and history. Is this last ditch effort for Jason Kenney to try and unite Albertans before his premiership is over?

City council decided that they won’t be setting up city-run homeless camps this summer. After discussing their options, councillors decided it would be too costly, and that there isn’t enough time to set them before winter. Are there any options the city should consider? How will this impact the rising homeless population?
