Burlap Sack: online resource reliability 

The Winter term is almost over, and students are trying to build their timetables, access their final exams schedules, or even just use wifi on campus. There’s only one problem – these services have crashed or closed for maintenance repeatedly over the past week. Write about how this is affecting you and other students!

After a whirlwind UASU election, new Students’ Union executives were elected. However, many UAlberta students took to Reddit to express that they didn’t care about the results, and that they don’t feel advocated for anyway. Write about why you think students haven’t been as involved in this year’s election, and how the UASU can change that! 

U of A waives tuition for Ukrainian studentsAmid the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the University of Alberta has decided to help international Ukrainian students by removing their tuition fees. Is this enough to help these students, and should more be done? What support exists for other students affected by this crisis?

UAlberta repeals the mask mandateAfter promising to keep the mandate in place until the end of the term, the U of A announced they’d be lifting their campus-wide mask mandate.  Was this the right call, or should the university have kept the mandate until the term is over?
