Hey y'all!It's finally Reading Week! 📖As we all take time to relax, study, and stay warm, reminder that there will not be a pitch meeting this week. With that, here are this week's pitches!Just let us know which one you'd like and what your take on it will be. After the pandemic, the city has green-lit an urban development project that will restore and renew the streetlights in the Strathcona and Garneau shopping districts, aiming to increase visitation after many have expressed discomfort in exploring this area of the city. Some believe that this plan only scratches the surface of what it might take to make these shopping districts feel more walkable and safe. Especially for residents and students on campus, who frequently visit these areas. Do you think this plan is enough to make Garneau and Old Strathcona safe? Or, does more need to be done before people are comfortable walking around there again. 

Because the FIFA World Cup is being hosted by Qatar, some games will be as early as 7:30 a.m.. Because of this, Alberta Gaming, Liquor, and Cannabis is allowing bars to start serving alcohol as early as 5:30 a.m.. Talk about how this will impact soccer culture in Edmonton, and whether or not you think bars on campus, like Dewey’s and RATT, should do this!

On November 7th, The Student Services Centre is launching a new student services portal that will provide visibility into request progress as it is being fulfilled. Do you think that the SSC adding a new virtual tool, aside from Live Agent Vera, will provide more efficacy in the fulfillment of student inquiries? 

Discourse over the safety of the LRT has started up again, with many transit users deeply concerned over how unsafe the Edmonton transit system has gotten, especially around campus. Explore what is making transit so unsafe, and what needs to be done to help protect those who use it!

Our campus mascots have been going viral on UAlberta's social medias for their goofy demeanour and meme-like presence on campus. Write a marble pedestal praising their rise to virtual fame on student's social media.
