Environment Canada announced a poor air quality warning for the Edmonton area, including Sherwood Park and St. Albert. The decrease in air quality was caused by pollutants built up from stagnant weather conditions, and was at its worst on January 9. Is this phenomenon going to become more common as climate change worsens? How could this impact buildings that have poor air circulation, which is quite common on campus?

Last week, an Albertan woman contracted a flesh-eating disease while in Mexico. Unfortunately, the lack of available beds and care meant she had to stay in Mexico instead of coming home. The news was met with frustration aimed at Alberta's Healthcare system, which has been near collapse for several months. Write an article about how more attention needs to be brought to these issues, especially as COVID cases fluctuate in the province.

The legal system in Edmonton while still facing delays from the pandemic, now struggles with a lack of forensic specialists working in Alberta. Labour disputes between forensic professionals, Crown attorneys and Legal Aid Alberta has prevented these jobs from being fulfilled. Write an article about how this issue needs more attention so backlog doesn't keep happening!

In While we all might have thought that their time had come, the nostalgic Canadian department store Zellers will be returning to Canada in 2023. In a series posts, the brand revealed that they will be appearing in Hudson's Bay stores and debuted a new e-commerce website that will offer "a digital shopping journey that taps into the nostalgia of the brand." Will Zellers succeed in their rebrand? Will the hype be enough to entice Canadians to bring Zellers back into their shopping rituals?
