Hello, mateys!I hope everyone is having a great week so far! I know things are starting to pick up speed, so just hold tight until Reading Week!With that, here are this week's pitches!Just let us know which one you'd like and what your take on it will be. Tuition increase announcements were met with protests by the University of Calgary Students' Union, who said they weren't adequately consulted before their Board of Governors voted on the increase. U of A students have responded, voicing similar concerns, and wondering if the UASU is planning a similar protest. Write about whether or not you think following in U of C's footsteps is the right call of action. 

Transit safety has been a popular topic in our city for the last few months. With growing assaults, complaints, and now vandalism despite the current Transit Safety Task Force’s efforts, many are wondering if new approaches are needed. Write an article about what you think the city can do to improve transit safety in Edmonton. 

First opened in 1985, and known as the world’s largest indoor triple-loop roller coaster, the Mindbender has officially shut down forever. If you have fond childhood memories of Galaxyland, or still enjoy visiting the rides once in a while, this news is shocking and potentially upsetting. Write an article about what could replace this iconic rollercoaster, or if anything should at all.

Despite best efforts to promote inclusivity on campus, students are being forced to use their legal name during convocation, instead of their preferred one. Initiatives like the pronoun project are good, but what long-term goals need to be in place in order to ensure students get the representation they need and deserve?

After the COVID-19 pandemic caused a downturn in downtown Edmonton, this recent funding is meant to 'restore vibrancy' in the city's core. Talk about what you would like to see this funding go toward, such as better snow clearing, branding, and events!
