Let the first pitch of the semester be a good one!

Hi y'all! As always, it was fantastic seeing everyone at our section meeting yesterday and hearing about your holiday breaks! Additionally, I'm excited to read the first drafts of your stories on Friday night. There's a few things from the meeting I wanted to highlight. First, I wanted to introduce everyone to our Deputy Opinion Editor for this semester, Damian Lachacz! In this role, Damian will be helping me run the section in a variety of ways, which will include sending out pitch emails, helping do edits, alongside other responsibilities. If you ever need to get in contact with Damian, you can reach him at [email protected] or over Slack.Second, a few of you asked me about required reading pitches for the magazine, so I wanted to include that in the Opinion pitch email today! For the February edition, we're looking for required reading pitches related to the theme of 'Healthy Sexuality.' For example, this piece could address topics such as discovering your own sexuality or approaching it in an empowering way. Additionally, we're also looking people to do horoscopes and crosswords for the magazine. If you're interested in anything for the magazine, feel free to email me with your pitch! For those of you that couldn't come to the meeting this week but still want a pitch, we got you covered!Below are the remaining pitches from the Opinion meeting. If you're interested in writing one of the articles in this email, just reply letting me know which one you would like and what your take on it is. Alternatively, if you have a pitch of your own, I'd love to hear it! Send me an email at [email protected]. -Mitchell
