Write about the upcoming municipal election for the Opinion section!
On October 16th, Edmonton voters will hit the voting booths to select city councillors, school board trustees, and the next mayor. Traditionally, the voter turnout in municipal elections has been very low, especially among students. Let's help try and change that! Below is a list of candidate forums that are being held around the city for the mayoral race. I'll be attending all of them and live-blogging about each of the candidates. I encourage all of you to come with me and write about the election! There are some pretty interesting candidates, and it's sure to be a good time. If you want to chat about what kind of coverage you could write, feel free to email me ([email protected]), or we can meet up and discuss it in person if you'd prefer. You can also call or text me at 587-437-8583, especially if you're at a candidate forum and want to meet up!
