The University of Alberta’s Faculty of Science is hosting a sold-out public lecture on the history of the enigmatic Enigma machine.The University of Alberta’s Faculty of Science is hosting a sold-out public lecture on the history of the Enigma machine on Thursday, October 25, 2018. The event features UAlberta Professor Peter Berg, from Augustana, and David O’Keefe, an award-winning historian, professor, and best-selling author from Marianopolis College in Montreal. A volunteer can go to the event and write it up for the section.

Profile on Nathan Doraty

Doraty is a third-year student in Computer Engineering at the University of Alberta. He and his friends won the prestigious Hack the North contest at the University of Waterloo and then were invited to the Facebook campus in Palo Alto to compete alongside some of the brightest students on the continent. It'd be cool to talk to him about going to Palo Alto, and what else he's up to on campus

RIP Jim Lightbody 

This one is for a more experienced volunteer, but a few days ago, but Jim Lightbody - a well known political science professor - passed away after a battle with cancer. If a volunteer is interested, they could contact the department and see if a professor or a student would like to be interviewed for a story on Lightbody's work at the U of A

The Renewable Energy Design Club is unveiling their new solar charger

Pretty much what the title says! The club is holding an event unveiling the charger on Wednesday, Oct 24 at 5:30 p.m. Someone can go and interview the club members about what the charger does, and how the club came to create it.
