Hey everybody β€” Areeha here! Hope everyone is doing well! Here are some info for the week: A Gateway tradition we are excited to bring back this year is putting together a Gateway Team for the Campus Cup dodgeball tournament! The tournament takes place from November 26-28. Spots are limited β€” if you want to register email [email protected]!There will be a workshop event next week! It'll be in-person on Thursday at 5:00 p.m.. We'll each be hosting different workshops for writing skills and we may go out to grab a bite to eat after! We will send out more specified info in a separate newsletter!Deputy Editor job postings will be up very soon β€” expect the announcement in an email. The postings will be up for two weeks, and interviews will be given out on a rolling basis!We also held a combined News, Opinion, and Arts & Culture meeting this week! Have any feedback? Fill out this form!  UAlberta Augustana professor Stephanie Oliver teaches a First Year Seminar about the importance of smell! Students can learn about the history of this sense even though it can keep us safe, connect us & bring back powerful emotions!  UAlberta alumna, the Right Honourable Beverley McLachlin, former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Canada, is the keynote speaker for the 15th Annual Hurtig Lecture on the Future of Canada! The free virtual event is October 28 at 7 pm MT.  Sustainability Awareness Week is this week! Interview the folks organizing this awareness week on what attendees can expect!  Pluvio is an UofA student-led initiative to promote sustainable, eco-friendly dishwashing soap to the masses. They have recently partnered with the Students’ Union on this project!  An international study involving University of Alberta researchers shows two effective ways to sterilize disposable masks, potentially allowing them to be reused by health-care workers during the COVID-19 pandemic in areas with limited resources.  The UofA Bookstore and the UASU had a collective fundraiser in September and raised $3501.00 to support the Campus Food Bank!
