Hey everybody — Areeha here!Hope everyone is doing well and enjoyed the pretty snow on campus today! Here are News pitches for the week!

  • U of A student Jayden Calvert was named Miss Rodeo Canada 2022! Interview her on this honour!

  • More Good Days is an app that was developed by Alberta youth. This texting service sends daily messages to youth to help them get though mental health struggles.

  • U of A-led research shows that COVID-19 invades human cells using sugars on their surface — knowledge that could help scientists look out for new, more infectious variants.

  • An international team of researchers, including U of A researchers, are using artificial intelligence to predict new illegal drugs before they hit the streets — which could help save lives and fight crime.

  • Current Writer-in-Residence Ifeoma Chinubwa and previous Writer-in-Residence J.R. Carpenter are gathering November 17 at 1PM for a virtual reading!

  • UAlberta Campus & Community Recreation is hosting a free Sledge Hockey Clinic on November 19. Interview them on this clinic!

As always, feel free to pitch me a story idea! Reach me at [email protected] or at Slack with any questions or concerns. Have a great week and take care!

Cheers,

Areeha
