Hey everybody, Areeha here!I hope you are doing well and enjoying this warm-ish weather we've been having recently! 🌥Firstly, here is a quick announcement:We are looking for illustrators! More urgent: We need a header for the Comic Stans column! Take a look at the Gateway to Gastronomy columns and Eating Edmonton header photos — something simple and on theme! Less urgent: in about half a month, we will be publishing the yearly Purity Test! We are seeking illustrators to make one illustration for this.   • U of A study found short-term exposure to smoke from 2016 Fort McMurray wildfires affected lung function of RCMP officers. 

  • U of A Law Professor Hadley Friedland has co-authored a new article detailing the findings of a community-led collaboration with the government of the Toquaht Nation on Vancouver Island. 

  • The U of A Health Hub and Accelerator has a new name, a new mission and values, and new services to offer innovators and entrepreneurs starting out in the health sector! 

  • Active Minds is a student led, student run, mental health awareness and advocacy group! Do a profile on this club!

  • U of A diabetes researchers are reporting early success in a first-in-humans clinical trial to test whether pancreatic cells grown from stem cells can be safely implanted and begin to produce insulin.
