Come cover UASU elections!

We are starting to recruit volunteers to help us cover UASU elections! We will have a team of News volunteers, and a team of Opinion volunteers. Keep in mind that volunteers cannot be part of both teams! An example of previous UASU election coverage can be found here.If you are interested in covering UASU elections, please contact Emily for the Opinion team ([email protected]) or me for the News team ([email protected])!Readership Survey!The Gateway's Readership Survey is launching tomorrow! Keep an eye out on our social media for it, and make sure to fill it out and share it with your friends! 

Here are News pitches for the week, please let me know if you're interested in any of them:

  • Interview the UASU on the events they are holding for Black History Month!

  • Researchers at the U of A are studying mountain pine beetles and what their developing resilience to the cold will mean for Alberta.

  • A U of A-led transportation study looked into women who use public transit, and recommended how to make public transit more accessible for women.

  • Interview international students at the U of A on what the upcoming return to campus will look like for them.

  • In partnership with U of A's Wellness Supports, Ahmed Knowmadic is holding a workshop on why we celebrate Black History Month in Canada. The event is on Thursday Feb 10, 12:00 PM - 1:15 PM

  • The UASU is adding a menstrual product dispenser to CSJ!
