Hey everybody, Areeha here!Hope you are doing well! As we approach exam season, best of luck with finals!! Announcements: AGM!Our Annual General Meeting will be on April 28th at 6PM! Pitch Meetings!Yesterday was our last pitch meeting of the year, but we still will be sending out weekly emails for the remainder of April!  

Now here are some News pitches for the week!

  • For World Health Day the U of A is hosting Olympic gold medalist Kyle Shewfelt for an inspiring talk! They are also serving light breakfast, and the talk will be followed by award presentations of the 2022 Wellness Champions. The event is in-person and online. In-Person: April 7th, 7:30 AM-9:30 AM, VVC 2-210. Online: April 7th, 7:30 AM-9:30 AM on Zoom.

  • Starting Fall 2022 students will be allowed to take exploration credits. This means students can choose to receive a credit/no credit grade in a select number of courses. Interview an executive member of the UASU on this.

  • A U of A study reveals how reducing sodium intake can help patients with heart failure. Interview the researchers behind this study!

  • Geese are back on campus! Interview students on how they feel about geese returning to campus (and the best way to avoid them on your way to class)!

  • A new study by a U of A immunologist Dr. Shokrollah Elahi reveals why HIV remains in human tissue even after antiretroviral therapy.

  • An event on April 7th will host Dr. Nick Holt, Interim Dean of the Faculty of KSR for a conversation and Q&A about the state of the faculty, and opportunities for alumni to support students and engage in KSR initiatives. The event is online: April 7th, 7:00 PM on Zoom
