Announcements
AGM:Our Annual General Meeting is on Thursday April 28th at 6PM! It will include:
Informing members about general Gateway happenings and future plans
Changes to bylaw
Electing volunteer board reps
Social event and awards!
The actual AGM will be held in a hybrid fashion at 6 PM. We will have it available both online and in-person at the Gateway office (3rd-floor SUB) so please stop by, we would love to have you!! After the actual AGM finishes we will have a fun social hangout, which will be held in-person!Now here are some News pitches for the week!
The Department of Modern Languages and Cultural Studies is presenting a one-day research symposium Cultural Responses to Ethnic Nationalism featuring a roundtable that will bring together researchers from across U of A. This is being held on Zoom on April 28th from 9:00 AM - 12:30 PM.
U of A professor Jairan Gahan is studying the legal history of sex crimes in Iran in the hope of improving legal systems around the world today.
U of A Law graduate Anita Cardinal-Stewart is a recipient of the Justice Rosalie Silberman Abella Prize, awarded by the Royal Society of Canada to 23 graduating law students!
An alliance of government leaders, Indigenous leaders, academic leaders and economic development leaders have come together to create Canada’s first hydrogen HUB in Edmonton in an effort to spur the Edmonton Region’s hydrogen economy and ensure economic competitiveness as the world looks towards a low-carbon future. These include leaders from the U of A!
