Hey everyone, thanks again for all the work so far! A new month means another Gateway volunteer meeting, so be sure to come by the office on Monday from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. if you got the time. As usual, free food awaits.But if you're busy that time, here's a list of pitches for you to study at your leisure! Students' Union hires new representatives for East Campus Village

In the latest development on East Campus Village not having any student representatives, the Students' Union has hired two representatives for the residence. This follows the de-recognition of the East Campus Residence Association, and the SU has been trying to get a new representative group to take its place. Contact vice-president (student life) Andre Bourgeois and try to interview the two reps they hired.

Interview Bangladeshi students on the Dhaka protests

On August 5, several Bangladeshi students and alumni held a demonstration in quad in response to the news that two students were hit by a bus in Dhaka. Reach out to the students who participated in the protest and get their perspective on why this matters.

Profile the Alberta Academic Review journal

Interview Heather Mark, the editor of the Alberta Academic Review Ltd, a volunteer-run student journal that started in 2016. This could be a cool change to profile the work of other students at the U of A

Researchers create new super-dense solid state drive

Scientists at the University of Alberta have created the most dense, solid-state memory in history that could soon exceed the capabilities of current hard drives by 1,000 times. Interview the researchers responsible: PhD student Roshan Achal and physics professor Robert Wolkow.
