Happy 2020!

I hope everyone had an awesome holiday season. Now that we've entered a new semester, it's time to decide if we'd like to change the date/time of our magazine meetings, or keep them the same. Attached to the bottom of this email is a poll for anyone who's interested in attending magazine meetings this semester. Click the button that says "take poll here" to respond. The poll will close on Monday, January 13th, and an announcement about meeting times will be sent out shortly after.In other news, I have a very exciting announcement to make: in just over a week, The Gateway will be hosting a workshop on long-form journalism with Omar Mouallem. Mouallem is an Edmonton-based journalist who has contributed to publications like The New Yorker, Rolling Stone, and The Guardian. He is the author of several documentaries and non-fiction books, including the national bestseller Inside the Inferno: A Firefighter’s Story of the Brotherhood that Saved Fort McMurray.He will be visiting The Gateway on Thursday, January 16, from 4-6 PM to conduct a workshop on long-form journalism and answer any questions budding journalists may have.
