Certain groups were more likely to report social isolation, including seniors, immigrants, Indigenous people, new mothers, low-income families and people who identified as LGBTQ. Does Edmonton have a community-building problem? Is there anything we can do as a city to make our city more inclusive?

Some examples of assignments you could do at the photo section are: a dramatic photo essay about therapy dogs on campus, photos of the UofA fencing club, a portrait of a university professor, being a paparazzi at student council meetings, doing “streeters” photos, or hanging out in the Gateway office and sipping tea dispensed from our fantastic water cooler.
