Peggy Garritty elected as the fourth-ever female chancellor

Some of you may have already heard that Peggy Garritty was recently elected as the fourth-ever female chancellor of the university. The chancellor's job is to serve as the honourary head of the University of Alberta, and they also sit on the Board of Governors. This story could be taken from many angles, but perhaps the most interesting is the fact that there have been just four women to sit in this position out of 22 total chancellors.

University of Alberta working on a faster test for COVID-19

We've all heard it: COVID-19 (or Coronavirus) is spreading rapidly. However, there are scientists here at the U of A developing a test to detect it faster and with a much lower false-negative rate, which can currently be as high as 50 per cent. Marble pedestal: spaces on campus

With everything going on right now, sometimes we just need a little positivity. I want you to choose your favourite place on campus and write a marble pedestal about it. It can be short and sweet, and all you have to do is talk about a place you love. This is a really good way to practice writing positively.
