It's pitch time!

As usual, I would like to thank everyone who took a pitch or gave their own last week. Keep it up, soldiers!I'll be sending out shorter pitch lists each week between our monthly meetings; that way, if you want to write for us but are plum out of ideas, there are always a few waiting! Indigenous culture successfully integrated into fashion design by U of A grad

The creator of LUXX, Derek Jagodzinsky, is making waves in the fashion industry by designing creative, culturally aware clothing. He got his undergraduate degree at the University of Alberta in 2010, and has even dressed huge celebrities like Kim Kardashian. This is a really fun, positive article for whoever would like to write about it!

On May 31, the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame had its annual induction banquet! For this article, I would like someone to choose one inductee and focus on their career and what makes them special enough to be inducted. Have at it!

Alberta parents charged with failing to provide the necessities of life will go to second trial

The infamous story of the couple who failed to treat their son of bacterial meningitis, ultimately resulting in his untimely death, are going to a second trial. It was the Supreme Court that overturned the conviction, so this could be an interesting one to write about.

Dutch girl rumoured to have committed assisted suicide actually died at home

This case is a sad one. After years of mental health issues, published autobiographer Noa Pothoven took her own life. Soon after her death, nasty rumours sprung up about her taking advantage of the Netherlands' widely critiqued assisted suicide laws. This could be a good jumping-off point to talk about a number of things: assisted suicide, sensationalization of mental illness, or even the media rumour mill. It's up to you!
