First opinion meeting for the fall semester!

Hi everyone! I hope y'all had a great first week of classes. If this is your first Opinion email, welcome to our section! My name's Mitchell and I'm the Opinion Editor for this academic year. I'm a fourth year political science/philosophy student and the only thing you really need to know about me is that, like most of you, I'm quite an opinionated person. As such, I'm very excited for our Opinion meetings this fall and I'm looking forward to reading your hot takes on campus events, social issues, and so much more.Our first meeting will be next Tuesday, September 8, at 4:00 p.m. I'll send out a Google Meet link earlier that day, so all you'll need to do is join the room and then I'll give everyone a rundown of the Opinion Section at the Gateway and we'll give out some pitches for that week. If you can't make it, don't sweat it — I send out an email with leftover opinion pitches the morning after every meeting. Additionally, right after our meeting, the Gateway is having a virtual Open House at 5:00 p.m. It's a great opportunity to meet our staff, learn more about other sections, and get information about our magazine.
