Construction season is underway in Edmonton, with 200 projects planned: Many Edmontonians complain that the city is constantly under construction, but nothing ever gets completed, and projects take way too long to complete. Well, this spring and summer will see 200 projects get started, including the LRT expansion and the 124 Street renewal project. Is Edmonton taking on too much to reasonably complete on time? What needs to change for construction to be completed on time in this city?

The impacts of the Alberta wildfires on the provincial election: With Alberta declaring a provincial state of emergency, and the wildfires causing several evacuations, many candidates have temporarily paused their campaigns in the provincial election. Will this temporary pause impact the provincial election, and Albertans ability to vote or be informed? Or, will the wildfires impact potential candidates’ policies leading up to the days Albertans will cast their votes?

Connor McDavid says he and his team will now have a ‘cup or bust’ mentality following playoffs loss: The Oilers recently lost a game to the Vegas Golden Knights, meaning they were kicked out of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Following wide criticism from Oilers fans, McDavid said he is dedicated to bring the Stanley Cup to Edmonton. Is this promise enough to get Edmontonians to cheer on their team? Or, is this just another promise that won’t be delivered from the Oilers?

Smith and Notley meet over the wildfires, with mixed reactions: Many Albertans have applauded Notley and Smith’s ability to meet and strategically plan, despite their tight and tense race in the provincial election. But, others have taken to each of the politicians’ respective instagram and twitter accounts, to admonish them for meeting. Some have even said that the NDP are responsible for the spread of the wildfires. Talk about how this could impact each of their races, and the provincial election more generally!
