It's V-Day; hope it's going well for ya. Anyway! Have some pitches via your weekly post-meeting arts and culture email. ICYMI: Arts & Culture meetings are Tuesdays in SUB 3-04 at 4:00-5:00 PM!Also, here's your weekly reminder to pitch me any ideas you have! I'd love to hear them. Especially for the following columns:
Diss Track: Are there 3-4 songs that grind your gears in the worst way possible? Diss the crap out of them in this column.
Brew Crew/Vino Bitches: A fun, 150- to 350-word review of your favourite (or not-so-favourite) beer, wine, or other alcoholic beverage of choice.
Noodle Nation: Who loves noodles? You (might) love noodles. Write 450 to 500 words on your favourite noodle (ramen, pho, other long stringy flour-y food) haunts for this column.
DatApp: Have an app that’s been a game- or life-changer? Wax eloquently about it (or a few of your favourites) in a short 150- to 350-word installment for this column.
Top 5: Top 5 study spots, places to cry in public, late-night post-exam diners...you name it, you can write a Top 5 on it! 50-200 words per Thing In The Top 5.
Emoji of the Week: This one’s self-explanatory. Trawl your recently used emojis and sing praise about it and why other people should worship it as The Best Emoji too.
Fashion Streeters: If you love walking up to people and asking them about their cool outfits, this one’s for you. Q & A format. Consider pairing up with a photo volunteer or taking your own pics!
Doin’ You: Everyone has something they do exceptionally well. Wanna teach others your wizardry? Walk us step-by-step through the process of a master for this column.
Playlists: Have killer musical taste? Share it on The Gateway with a curated playlist.
...AND MORE! You can also pitch me your own column ideas if you want to write your own or if you've seen any awesome movies/heard any music/read any books/played any games/eaten any food etc., let me know.
Lemme know at [email protected] if these pique your interest.
And read on for this week's 很好 pitches.

Art show: Luther Konadu's Figure as Iindex @ Latitude 53
Latitude 53 is pleased to welcome Luther Konadu and his work: Figure As Iindex. Luther Konadu’s work focuses on the way objective visual documentation ostensibly formulates public perception, particularly that which surrounds collective identities and historic record in relation to the black body. In his work Konadu observes that history has always been told by its victors, making our understanding of the past limited and one sided. Using the tradition and legacy of documentary photography Konadu creates an alternate past to imagine a different future of self—as it relates to a social communal context. Interested? Cover the show!

ENSLAVED are more than happy to return to North America whom they will unite with Pacific Northwest black metallers Wolves in the Throne Room, Danish post-black siren Myrkur and doomed rock ‘n’ crushers Khemmis (plus regional openers to be announced in the new year). Album review: Glass Tiger's 31
Glass Tiger first burst on to the world stage in 1986 with the #1 hit “Don’t Forget Me (When I’m Gone),” the first of 13 top 30 hits (including 7 top 10s). Glass Tiger’s Alan Frew and Johnny Reid have enjoyed a long friendship which has included a number of collaborations including Johnny’s #1 hit “Fire It Up” which also became a significant hit for Joe Cocker in Europe. In 2015, Frew suffered what could have been a career-ending stroke but following an intense year of rehab, Alan was on the road to recovery. Taking all that had happened into consideration, Reid suggested creating an album that celebrated the truly important things in life. Review the album!
