Hello peeps! Apologies in advance for the thick wall of info for this week but hopefully this GIF will help :)
So glad to see everyone yesterday who came to the completely in-person pitch meeting --- the first one since before the pandemic! I joined
The Gateway
during the height of the pandemic so my first pitch meeting had faces on the screen instead of people sitting in the same room as me.
Here's the
, a fun folder of awesome A&C stuff like templates, our volunteer guide, and an article checklist. I also put in a
PDF of the CP Style Workshop
part of yesterday's pitch meeting --- I will upload each workshop there after the pitch meeting for easy access.
To the people who took a pitch from yesterday (and for those who take a pitch in general),
please send me a confirmation email of your name and the pitch you took
so I can get a line of communication going before you start writing your article.
Please let me know if you or anyone you know would be interested in illustrating for The Gateway. I'm
currently looking for enthusiastic digital artists with a portfolio of their past works (traditional and/or digital)
. I'm planning on inserting future Illustration pitches in either the pitch meetings or in a separate Slack group chat.
And as always, check out the leftovers and new pitches for this week!
- Arthur :)

The Emmys aired last night (Sep 12)!
If you're the type of A&C volunteer who keeps up to date on pop culture, then this is for you! Pop culture articles are my bread-and-butter from when I first started so it's ironic that I forgot to pitch this out during the pitch meeting.Anyways, this is a fun group commentary article that anyone can jump into, preferably 3 max. You can talk about the red carpet outfits (the ones that slayed and the ones that didn't slay), the nominees and award winners, the funny memes, and anything else you can think of. This is somewhat of a time-sensitive piece though since pop culture relevance is a finicky thing.
