I hope everyone's Reading Week went smoothly and that you're all feeling less stressed or more relaxed than the weeks previous!
No huge announcements from me, so enjoy your week!

Check out the free event at Gallery@504!Come hang out and get some art in early in the morning! The audience will have a chance to see some of Gerry’s most recent collage and sculpture work up close and personal and have the opportunity to ask questionsThe event will be hosted on Saturday, November 27th, 10.30 am – 12 pm in-person at Gallery@501.

Go watch The Great Whorehouse Fire of 1921!The Great Whorehouse Fire of 1921 is presented by Northern Light Theatre live at the Varscona Theatre.Written by an Edmonton playwright, the play explores comedic-themed, historically based drama about small town gossip, support, and sabotage.The play will be running from November 18 to 28.Let me know if you'd like to grab a media pass and watch the play, as well as interview someone involved!

Review God of Carnage from UofA Fine Arts!Playing November 24 to December 4, this play presents two sets of parents together to deal with the unruly behaviour of their children. However, a civilized discussion about whose child is responsible, and whose parenting is at fault, quickly devolves into a childish evening of name-calling, tears and tantrums.Media passes are available if you'd like to review it!

RCMR MÉTIS Talks Fall 2021: presentations from Bailey Oster and Marilyn Lizee authors of "Stories of Métis Women" and Dr. Cheryl Troupe “Re/Storying Métis Road Allowance Communities.” November 18 at 1pm-3pm
Métis Week: Forgotten People Online Film Screening and Panel: This film documents the journeys of multiple survivors in residential schools and the resilience of the Métis in maintaining kinship and culture. November 18 at 6pm-8pm

Interview Mikaela Yeo!Yeo speaks a form of Spanish Creole called Chavacano, spoken by about 700,000 in the Philippines. In her cover design for the only Chavacano dictionary she could find, Yeo evokes some of the physical features of Zamboanga City where she grew up, as well as festivals, clothing and a vibrant, saturated colour scheme.

Review The Humans!The Humans is a dramedy about three generations of a tight-knit family who gather for Thanksgiving dinner, where secrets spill out and things go bump in the night. The Humans opens November 27 in Edmonton at the Metro Theatre, but a streaming link is available for review purposes before then! Be aware that the deadline would be a few days before the showing so it can be up on the website in time!
