Hello peeps!
Hope everyone had a restful Reading Week! I know this last month of the semester is extra-stressful for everyone, so I hope you all got time to relax and recharge last week đ
Just to briefly introduce myself, I am Katie, the deputy Arts & Culture editor! I will be helping Arthur out this year and am super excited to work on some great Arts & Culture articles.
Here's some announcements for the upcoming weeks:
Nov 23, 6:30 pm, Gateway to Cinema: Elvis at the Garneau Theatre

Nov 28, 4:00 pm, Gateway SGM Meeting at the office
volunteers with 3 or more published articles can vote and run for our vacant Volunteer Representative position
everyone is welcome to come, regardless of amount of articles published
regular weekly pitch meeting will follow, as well as a social at Dewey's

The featured piece of the evening's concert is Music for Prague 1968, written by Karel Husa in response to the Soviet invasion of Prague in 1968, as a statement on the current invasion of Ukraine.

Check out the UofA Madrigal Singers' performance of Heinrich SchĂźtzâs Musikalische Exequien and contemporary works for choir!November 19, 7:30 pmConvocation Hall (116 St. & 85 Ave, Edmonton, AB)Marking the 350th anniversary of Heinrich SchĂźtz's death, the UofA Madrigal Singers perform his monumental, Musickalische Exequien. SchĂźtz's work will showcase over a dozen solo voices and antiphonal choir. The program opens with a double-choir work by Gabrieli whose music had a great influence on SchĂźtz. The second half of the concert features contemporary choral works celebrating the power and influence of music on our lives. Guest Josephine Van Lier will join the choir on violone.
