Attend the National Indigenous Peoples Day with Richard Van Camp event!To celebrate National Indigenous Peoples Day on June 21, Augustana campus is hosting Richard Van Camp, the Storyteller in Residence for Calgary Public Library and the Writer in Residence at the Metro Federation of Edmonton Libraries.This is a free digital presentation, so let me know if you're planning to go and if you'd like to speak to Van Camp!
Interview Terez! Terez is a Calgary-based artist who is back with a new single! Terez is a proudly Mètis, openly LGBTQ+ artist who ranks among the 2.1 per cent of female producers in the industry today. Her newest single, "Ugh Boy" is a pop song about respecting boundaries and consent.Let me know if you'd like to chat with Terez about her work as a musician, producer, or anything else!
Interview someone before Edmonton's PrideFest!Starting June 24, Edmonton's PrideFest will be back in full swing with familiar headliners like Fefe Dobson! This will be a full festival with music and both paid and free events to celebrate and support LGBTQ2S+ members of Edmonton's communities.Ahead of the festival, interview the event manager, or let me know if you're planning to attend any of the events!
Review Slash/Back! Filmed by Inuit filmmaker Nyla Innuksuk, Slash/Back is a horror story inspired by the "mythical" stories Innuksuk heard when she was a child in Nunavut. The film is in English and Inuktitut, with English subtitles.There is a link for review purposes and Innusuk is also available for interviews if you'd like to talk to her!The film is released June 24, so picking up this pitch would require that the draft be done by June 20!
Interview someone to preview Edmonton Jazz Fest! Starting June 26, Edmonton Jazz Fest will be back with a lineup of jazz artists from around the world! With highlights on both local and international talent, there's sure to be a jazz sound for everyone!Let me know if you'd like to chat with someone involved in the festival or if you're planning to attend!
