Come one, come all!
Good afternoon everybody, Areeha here!
I hope everybody is doing well and enjoying the nice weather!
As mentioned in the email earlier today, we have transitioned from having weekly meetings to having meetings every two weeks. However, we will still send out a weekly pitch email!
If you're interested, we've got some great pitches for you down below. If nothing catches your eye feel free to pitch us an article idea!
Recurring Columns:
The Hobby Hole: Tell us about any unique hobbies you have or give a fresh take on an old favourite. It could be a passion project or an activity you do when you want to lay back, unplug your brain, and watch the hours fly by.
Paddling up the Livestream: Wax lyrical about your favourite livestreams, put us onto some hidden-away gems, or give your hot-takes on livestream culture!
The First Time: Try something totally new and write about your experience. It could be a cuisine you’ve heard great things about, an unfamiliar type of music, or an activity you've never tried before. Tell us about it all from the POV of a complete novice.
Dream Team: Write about your ultimate dream collab! It might be a Stephen King children’s books series or a Billie Eilish x Tyler, the Creator supergroup. Tell us what makes your dream team such a gamechanger.

Lunch Break: An Arts & Culture series where we share fun recipes with humorous commentary. It's wholesome and lowkey, so check it out and send an installment over!
Brew Crew/Vino Bitches: A fun, short review of your favourite (or not-so-favourite) beers, wines, or other alcoholic beverages of choice.
Noodle Nation: Who loves noodles? You (might) love noodles! Write a column on your favourite noodles or noodle haunts.
Pot Thots: Write about your favourite strains, equipment, dispensaries, and more in our column on the world of legal weed.

Pitches for the Week:
Interview AV about her new song "Mine, All Mine" Canadian singer-songwriter AV is the twice been the recipient of the "Cobalt Music Prize" at the Maple Blues Awards, and winner of the "R&B/Soul Recording of the Year" Award at the Edmonton Music Awards!
She has played some of the world's most coveted music festivals, including SXSW and Reeperbhan, along with having her music featured in Elle Magazine and on numerous television shows.AV released "Mine, All Mine", on Friday, June 18th, which has an uplifting retro sound, and lyrics that express the hard truths we face as a society.

Edmonton's iconic summer festival, Edmonton Folk Music Festival, is taking concerts to the streets this summer! There will be free concerts every weekend from July 16 to August 8.

Shawnee Kish is a two-spirit artist with a six-track EP coming out June 25. Kish hopes her story will inspire others to reclaim their cultures. She was also selected to curate an Indigenous Voices playlist by Amazon Music, and will be performing live in Edmonton this summer.
