Hi everyone, it's Iman!
Happy New Year! Looks like the cold followed us into 2022! I hope you've all prepared yourselves for the start of another virtual semester!
Just another reminder that pitch meetings will start up again late January or early February.
As you may remember from last weeks pitch email, I'm Iman, the other new Deputy Editor for the Arts and Culture section. You guys will be seeing more of Taylor and I from now on. (So exciting!)

How do you prep for the new term? Buy and set up a new agenda? Buy a new set of pens? Plan out your term?Tell me your top 5 things that get you motivated and jazzed for the upcoming term!
Check out Ice on Whyte!Ice on Whyte is Edmonton's ice sculpture carving competition, with artists from around the globe.Check out the sculptures, warm up with a hot beverage, or try out ice carving for yourself!This goes on from January 27 to February 6.
Check out Deep Freeze!A winter festival combining Ukrainian, Francophone, and Indigenous culture and traditions together for a week of stories, games, and ice sculptures!10 days of winter festivities from January 14 to 23. More information on the events occurring throughout the week is available on their website.
Watch Anastasia, The New Broadway Musical!A romance adventure musical, from the Tony Award-winning creators of the Broadway classic Ragtime. A rewarding journey about self discovery, and finding the mysteries of the past.This play will show at the Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium, from January 11-16.You may need to buy your own tickets for this one, but we can try to get a media pass.
Your favourite ways to spend time indoors!With the semester starting off online, and the recent spread of Omicron, it looks like we'll be spending a lot of time indoors!Tell us about some of your favourite things to do inside, or any new hobbies you picked up over winter break.
