Review She Kills Monsters!

On from February 4 to 12, this production put on by the U of A department of drama is about a girl grieving the death of her teenage sister. As she grieves, she finds a mysterious Dungeons and Dragons game her sister was involved in before her death.There are complimentary tickets available for viewing, so if you're interested in covering this, let Jin know! You will be asked to watch the production either on February 4, 5, or 7 (no show on the 6) and have your first draft in within 2 days of viewing.

This film is screening for free on January 26 from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m..The film discusses systemic racism, impacts of colonialism and the ongoing trauma experienced by Indigenous peoples in Canadian health, followed by an expert Q&A.Let us know if you'd be interested! This event is happening tomorrow.

UnCovered - The Music of Dolly Parton

A one night only, virtual event on January 29 at 8:00 p.m..A twist on the Musical Stage Company's annual concerts, where you get to see a whole concert live from the comfort of your own home.Tickets are required for this event, if you're interested, contact us and we can give you some more information about this event.

Review Upholding White Supremacy through Anti-Muslim RacismAttend and review this Online Zoom Webinar by speaker Sherene H. Razack, professor and the Penny Kanner Endowed Chair in Women’s Studies in the Department of Gender Studies, UCLA. Sherene H. Razack will review four sites of anti-Muslim racism that create dread, phobia, and hysteria. She combines race theory, Islamophobia, and religion studies to show the connection between anti-muslim racism and white supremacy. Takes place on Thursday January 27, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.. Review Ben Sure’s The Story That Lived Here!

Released January 21, The Story That Lived Here is a 10-song collection from Ben Sure about library ladies and dive bar denizens, accidents and grieving, and at least one song about the end of the world. Sure is an Edmonton singer-songwriter.If you’d like to review his album and interview Sure, let us know!

An art exhibition hosted by Alberta Council for the Ukrainian Arts. This event goes on until January 28.Features artists Hannah McMillan and Liz Ekstrom. (Possibly a good interview opportunity)The exhibition focuses on exploring emotion, heritage, nostalgia, and lifestyle, through painting.

Check out Inheritance!Located at the Art Gallery of Alberta, this exhibition highlights untold historical facts that are hidden to overshadow parts of the past that are based on brutality, oppression, and racism.Shares history of the KKK, anti-Black racism, residential schools, and more. They seek to uncover history, hold truth to the past, and hopefully move forward.Let us know if you're interested in visiting!
