I'm still looking for a few more panelists for this roundtable...The finalists for the Governor General's Literary Awards were recently announced. The GGs are a group of annual awards in Canadian literature funded by the Canada Council for the Arts and sponsored by the Governor General. They're basically the Pulitzer Prizes of Canada. I think it could be fun to set up a panel to share takes on the finalists, the nature, history, and adjudication of the awards, and our hopes and predictions as to who will win. Think election dissection, but for Canadian books. If this interests you, let me know and I'll get to work setting this up. Yay for books! As always, if none of these pitches take your fancy, be sure to hit me up with your own story ideas! You can reach me at [email protected].
